4. PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS TENSE
1). Past Perfect Continuous Tense menekankan lamanya suatu aktifitas yang sedang berlangsung sebelum aktifitas lain atau waktu lain di masa lalu.

~ The police had been looking for the criminal for two years before they caught him.
~ Mr. Roheli had been waiting a bus for almost a half hour before the bus finally came.
~ Mr. Roheli finally came at six o'clock. I had been waiting for him since for thirty.
2). Past Perfect Continuous Tense juga mengungkapkan sebuah aktifitas berlangsung baru-baru ini untuk waktu yang lain atau kegiatan yang lain di masa lalu.
Perhatikan contoh di bawah ini:
~ When Mr. Roheli got home, his hair was still wet because he had been swimming.
~ Her eyes were red because she had been crying.
